The engagement

Taco Casa runs a group of restaurants, and the tools they could buy off the shelf didn’t fit how the places actually run. So I built Hokoku: a restaurant management platform with its own custom ESP32 hardware terminal, shaped around their day, from the front of house to the back.

It’s full-stack in the most literal sense. I designed the hardware, wrote the firmware, built the backend, and shaped the interface around the people who use it every shift.

Hokoku is rolling out across their locations now. And there’s a public live demo — three fictional restaurants loaded with a full operating week — so other restaurant owners can walk in and try it for themselves.
